He was being held on a pretrial detention for state issued charges of murder and aggravated assault. On July 26, 2026, Miranda was charged with Felony Escape in the County of Atkinson, State of Georgia, and a state warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 27, 2026, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Miranda in the United States District Court, Southern District of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia, after he was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
